This backyard project was designed with a clear focus on cohesion between the hardscape, outdoor living spaces, and the architecture of the home.
A light-toned stone surface was selected for the pool deck and surrounding patio areas, creating a continuous foundation that moves effortlessly throughout the space. The colour palette was carefully chosen to complement the home’s exterior finishes, allowing the landscape to feel like a natural extension of the architecture rather than a separate addition.
The pool edge and adjacent steps were finished with a smooth coping and tread treatment that defines transitions while maintaining comfort underfoot. These elements were carried consistently across elevation changes, reinforcing visual cohesion and ensuring the hardscape reads as one unified system.
Natural stone detailing was introduced throughout key architectural features, including the pool water feature, outdoor kitchen, planter walls, and step accents. The texture and tone of the stone were intentionally aligned with the home’s exterior masonry, helping the built elements blend seamlessly into the overall design.
Subtle, integrated lighting was layered throughout the space to enhance safety, highlight architectural details, and extend the functionality of the backyard after dark. The result is an outdoor environment that balances structure, warmth, and long-term usability.
